I am Murat, a creative and results-driven training and communication specialist with over 15 years of diverse experience in training, communication, and project management. Holding a Ph.D. in Instructional Design, I bring expertise in content development, designing and implementing training programs, and utilizing multimedia, web authoring tools, and graphic design to create engaging informational materials. I have a proven track record of developing and executing strategic communication plans, managing knowledge platforms, and creating outreach programs that enhance public awareness and stakeholder engagement. I am skilled in crafting compelling messaging campaigns and producing high-quality communication resources.     Overseeing the communication strategy and coordinating the communication activities of the UNEP Plastics Initiative and associated projects. My role encompasses a range of duties, including: formulating and executing the communication plan to guide the Initiative’s communication and outreach efforts; crafting and disseminating a diverse array of communication materials for the Initiative and its projects; curating, delivering and analyzing the reader engagement of digital newsletter to keep stakeholders informed of the Initiative’s progress and developments; creating a prototype for a knowledge management platform to facilitate efficient knowledge sharing; coordinating the communication activities of plastics-related events; curating and updating UPI webpage content.

    Coordinated the development of two e-learning modules on Sustainable Consumption and Production and Circular Economy (using Articulate 360 software). Also coordinated the production, development, and dissemination of knowledge and communication products for the Consumption and Production Unit and also for a GEF-funded electronics project in Nigeria (including but not limited to case studies, press releases, infographics, factsheets, flyers, social media cards, website content, videos, and PowerPoint presentations).

    Succesfully coordinated the implementation of four agricultural livelihood projects under FAO’s Syrian Response Programme, promoting socio-economic and socio-cultural integration of Syrian refugees (Under these three projects more than 1500 unemployed adults were trained, and 120 entrepreneurs and 4 women cooperatives were supported for their business start-up).

    Led the development of vocational training modules (face-to-face and online) for Syrian refugees and host community members in the agri-food sector (More than 25 vocational training modules, including training plans and materials, were developed in three different languages under my supervision); Coordinated the overall agricultural vocational training programs (Organized more than 25 vocational training programs for more than 1250 adult beneficiaries in 8 different provinces under three different projects).

    Researched and reported on distance education tools and open learning systems; Coordinated the writing of Utah’s first virtual high school proposal, now operates as Mountain Heights Academy (I am the originator of the idea of first “virtual school with open learning tools”.
